On Wednesday 6th March, Fife held their Best Bar None Scotland award ceremony at Glenrothes Police Headquarters. Over 25 premises were welcomed by Chief Superintendent Derek McEwan, the Divisional Commander for Fife.

Known as the “Bystander Approach” the training is designed to equip people with the tools and confidence to safely intervene in situations, where they see people are vulnerable and at risk of harm.

With the support of the Scottish Hospitality Group and Dumfries and Galloway Alcohol and Drug Partnership , staff and managers from local pubs and bars were trained in the Bystander approach.

Best Bar None Scotland was boosted in Fife today with nine confirmed signs up to join the scheme. Gary Kenhard the national coordinator of the scheme is pictured with Sean the Bars Manager of Balbirnie House Hotel in Markinch.

The people of Glasgow make the city a welcoming place to live and work; such care is clearly demonstrated by the staff of King Tut’s who are going that extra mile to provide helpful support to local vulnerable people.
